Big Brother is Watching

Watch what you do, watch what you say, watch what you think.  Big Brother is watching!

A new document directed to the state of MO informed law enforcement agencies to keep a watch on "domestic terrorists". Two signs of "domestic terrorism" is when a person has a third-party political bumper sticker on their car and if a person is conspiring controversial theories, such as the "Superhighway linking Canada to Mexico".

Would these conspiracies include theories of the Bush administration causing 9/11, or George Bush waving his staff unleashing Hurrican Katrina on New Orleans?  Or maybe even conspiracy theories about Michael Moore being a fat lard.  Well, that's not a theory.

To me, this "Modern Militia Movement" reminds me a lot of the book, 1984.  The Thought Police is on the attack to controll every action and thought you may have.  If you sneeze too loud, talk in your sleep, or frown at Obama, you will disappear into the night.  Read the book please.

It is very scary to think that if you express yourself in any way that is in opposition to the government, you may be locked up.  And you thought blacklisting communists was bad.

Speaking of opposition to the government.  Time to log off of Townhall.com and close my browser.  Big Brother is watching!

The Protein in the Pork

There is enough pork in Obama's stimulus plan to feed a third world country.  All I can conclude is that the Obamaites have no idea what is included in the stimulus bill.  Atleast that is what I hope.  If I am wrong, I am even more frightened because the fact that the American people approve these ridiculous pet projects is daunting.  Oh my goodness!  Obama is going to give us money and create 4 million jobs!  The shepard has duped the sheep once again.  Baaa!

Top five slices of pork contained in this fatty bill:
1.  $200,000 for tattoo removal in California
2.  $59 MILLION to study the mating habits of the Pacific salmon
3.  $2 MILLION for the promotion of astronomy awareness in Hawaii
4.  $800,000 to study catfish genetics
5.  $1.8 Million for the study of the effect of swine odor on the environment

Does this not sound like a joke?  Sounds like an SNL skit to me.  I know the almighty defenders of the pork think this is ridiculous, but they continue to fight back with the argument, "it is going to create millions of jobs!".

Do people not see that we are artificially manufacturing jobs?  The billions of dollars we are spending on these jobs within the bill, we will continue to pay every year from here on out, unless of course 5 years down the road the government decides to eliminate the positions.  The government is creating meaningless jobs just so everyone can have their "fair share".  Doesn't this sound a little like socialism?  I guess that doesn't really matter, because for some odd reason the word "socialism" is no longer a bad thing.  I used to think ignorance was bliss.  Nevermind that.

A Diversion from the Serious Issues at Hand

The combination of Rush Limbaugh's controversial statements about his "desire for Obama to fail", his speech at CPAC, and his truffle with Michael Steele have turned the focus off the economic crisis our country is experiencing.  We all know that this is the leftist media trying to divert our attention.

It is apparent that Wall Street does not trust Obama.  Since he has been inaugurated, we have seen a decrease in 17%.  Obama says "let's not focus on those silly stock numbers".  WHAT?!  So we should be attacking Rush and attempting to divide the Republican party rather than focusing on the implications of a worsening economy?

Obama's ongoing statements of bipartisanship and flowery comments about both parties "coming together" is so much crap.  What is bipartisan about divisive comments towards Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity?  What is so bipartisan about constantly trashing and blaming our current economic situation on the Bush administration?  What is bipartisan about spending TRILLIONS of federal dollars on government regualtion?  What is bipartisan about nationalizing health care?  NOTHING.  Obama has an EXTREME socialistic agenda and I do not see an ounce of compromise in his current actions and future plans.  I won't even mention his "bipartisan" cabinet.

Let's move away from the so called "controversy" over Rush Limbaugh and look at the serious issues at hand, such as the socialistic nonpartisan regime that has begun.  Of course, I am with Rush one hundred percent.  I want socialism to FAIL.  Why?  Because I want our country to succeed.

Correlation does not Guarantee Causation

It is evident that the United States’ reduced literacy rates and proficiency ratings are a result of a failed education system. Not only are our children not improving academically, they are declining in many areas, particularly in the reading and math subjects. What is the answer to this problem? Two of the most common liberal responses are increased government funding and increased teachers’ salaries; just like everything else, “increased” government is the answer.

First things first, is increased funding the answer? The Bush Administration has INCREASED funding for education over 40% since 2001! Does this mean George Bush supports education 40% more than Bill Clinton did? I don’t think so. This seems to be Bush’s attempt to disprove the liberal claim that all Republicans are “ANTI-education”, but the problem is that flat, and sometimes declining education rates have shown that Bush’s desperate ploy for education reform has failed. Who would have thought that increasing government control is not the solution to all of our problems? We have almost 50% more educational funding then we did 7 years ago and our children are not any less dumb! Why is this? Because CORRELATION does not guarantee CAUSATION.

Funding is NOT the problem, it is poor educators. The District of Columbia has the 3rd highest per-child expenditure rate in the nation, spending $500 million a year, and the 8th highest paid teachers. Guess what? Their student performance ranks lowest in the nation for 4th and 8th grade reading and math! Funding certainly has corrected their problem hasn’t it? Like I said, CORRELATION does not guarantee CAUSATION.

I think most people agree, even conservatives, that our educators need to be paid a fair & competitive salary. Currently, the national average is $42,000, which is for 9 months of mandatory work. This equals to $4,667 per month. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to say that this is excessive, because I believe that educators are one of the most important ASSETS to our society. I am simply trying to debate that the typical leftist retort, “teacher’s are not paid enough”, is false. I also believe that if teachers’ salaries were much higher, we would have an even higher surplus of deficient educators. Why wouldn’t anyone desire this line of work if they got a soaring salary with a 9 month work year? If the average educator salary was say, $70,000, do you really think that our quality of educators would increase? No way. Individuals with caring, empathetic personalities that have a PASSION for schooling are who we want educating our children, not individuals whose solitary motivation is monetary.

Ideas for educational reform will come later…

Separation of Church & What?

This phrase is used so much by the liberal left that the majority of the public believes it is in our Constitution. Well, it's not. It does not appear in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, or Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson used this phrase in a private letter to the Danbury Baptists on January 1, 1982, eleven years after the First Amendment was ratified. Interesting huh? The left has tried to rewrite the history of the Constitution to dismantle religious upbringing in America. They have falsified this phrase to justify opposition to traditional marriage, school choice, faith based initiatives, voluntary school prayer, use of the Ten Commandments in schools & courthouses etc.

What the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights actually says is: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

The Founders never intended for the Amendment to put a wall between church and state. It is meant to say that the citizens of the United States will have freedom of practicing their religion without constraint from the government. Silly liberals.
